Safe House

We provide Māori wāhine and tamariki with a warm, safe, supported environment which allows them to rest and evaluate their options following a violent incident in their lives. We provide short term safe and supported accommodation for Maori wahine and tamariki who are at risk of further harm through violence in their environment.

This is a short term option, and wahine will be supported to assess and evaluate their options moving forward.

If wahine are wanting to come into the safe house, it is important that they bring (if they have them) their:

  • bank card
  • birth certificate (for self and tamariki)
  • clothing
  • children's favourite toys
  • house and car keys

Advocacy, Support and Education for Tamariki

We support and assist tamariki who are experiencing stress and/or grief as a result of witnessing or experiencing violence in their lives.  Our staff will work with tamariki individually or through group situations.
