Ngā Whakamārama- Service Description

• We provide health providers with SUDI prevention education and training
• Health providers completing the training can then provide safe sleep baby beds and education to whānau
• we provide wahakura or pēpi pod safe sleep baby beds, including a mattress and bedding
• We provide safe sleep education
• We prioritise babies who are most at risk of SUDI who would meet two of the following criteria:  a smoking exposed baby, Māori or Pasifika, Clinician has safety concerns
• Note:  safety concerns can also include low birth weight, co-sleeping and premature birth
• Referral and support to other Whānau Ora providers

• we prioritise support to Māori and Pacifika māmā who are pregnant or have a pēpi
• We cover the Hutt Valley, including the Upper Hutt region
